Boleh’s currently out of the water for hull maintenance and Survey and we’re thrilled to report her clean bill of health. Helped by good weather, our friends at Now Marine were able to attack the 10 year hull maintenance plan with their usual zeal. The result – our Surveyor was very impressed with the state of the hull and underwater fittings and approved that aspect of Boleh’s commercial operation for another 5 years.
The fact that Boleh is in very good condition below the waterline compared to previous years is a tribute to the exceptional work of our volunteers last year. We should also acknowledge the skill of Boleh’s original Malay shipwrights who constructed her hull of chengal planks, one and a half times as dense as oak, all those years ago. Next up, we have a team of volunteers applying a new coat of antifouling ready for launch at the end of the month.
