Last month saw Boleh again delivering a busy and successful 3 week charity programme from Portland Marina in Dorset. After a boisterous passage from Gosport, Boleh took advantage of the vast, sheltered expanse of Portland Harbour for the first week of ‘Sail-for-a-Fiver’ day sails for Dorset Schools. Better weather followed and 66 students from Dorset Studio and Wey Valley Schools, from Budmouth, All Saints and Atlantic Academies, and from the Dorset Learning Centre put to sea in Boleh.
Also included in the Portland programme were 2 sunny family charters and an evening sail to thank the Trustees of the Chesil Sailing Trust. Other local donors funding Boleh’s deployment were the Valentine Charitable Trust and the Alice Ellen Cooper Dean Charitable Foundation. Our thanks to them for their generosity and also to our Volunteers – the maintainers, Skippers and Mates giving their time to bring Boleh’s ‘can do’ message to young people. And finally . . . . . Boleh had a cracking journey home!
