We’re thrilled to report that, after a freshen up at Victoria Quay, Boleh is spic and span and alongside in Haslar Marina after a successful winter work programme. Thanks to our Boatfolk friends, she is on the Berth below the Creek Restaurant, selected for HRH The Princess Royal’s memorable visit in November 2022. Then, the Royal Standard flew at Boleh’s masthead and HRH recommissioned Boleh for charitable service with a bottle of Westcountry cider. Now, Boleh is celebrating the 75th Anniversary of her epic voyage from Singapore to Salcombe, her Westcountry port of Registry.
Boleh’s berth alongside the main walkway into the Marina gives berth holders, visitors and those enjoying the Creek’s hospitality a great opportunity to see this unique junk yacht with her unusual design and amazing history. Over the next few weeks, with Sea trials successfully completed, Boleh will provide pre-Season refresher training for volunteer crews and ‘inductions’ for new volunteers. Then her programme of charitable sailing can start! We are very grateful to our funders and to our volunteers who ensure Boleh is technically ready for her role and to those who then deliver her ‘can-do’ experience.
