Signed and Sealed – Boleh’s Future is in Falmouth

Friday 25th March, 2016

We are absolutely delighted to announce that the Boleh Trust has signed a 5 year Charter Agreement with the Falmouth based charity, Sea Sanctuary. This is the culmination of a Heritage Lottery Fund project which has seen Boleh fully restored in Portsmouth to her original 1949 design. Following delivery to Falmouth at the beginning of the year and extensive trials, Boleh will now play a vital role in delivering sail training programmes to improve mental wellbeing.

This positive next step in the Boleh story sees that ‘can do’ ethos, so evident in the historic voyage from Singapore to Salcombe in 1950, focussed once again on helping young people. Boleh will now add a Cornish element to the apprentices, cadets and young soldiers she has helped train over the last 60 years.

We wish Boleh and Sea Sanctuary a successful future together in the West Country, working for the benefit of those who most need it. Click on the link below to learn more about Sea Sanctuary and their work.
